It is an honor to be a candidate for Salem City Council. Since moving to Salem, I have grown to love and admire our City. My love and admiration for Salem has come about by getting involved in the City. By serving in various capacities from working in recreation league sports to twelve years on the school board, I have learned what Salem means to its citizens. Salem takes pride in doing things well, in making children a priority and providing services to its citizens. All very positive, but I believe that we can become an even better city in the future.
We need to find ways to leverage our way of life in Salem and our many assets to help enhance and improve our residential, commercial and industrial tax base to insure that we are prepared to meet our future challenges and needs.
As a member of Salem City Council, I will work enthusiastically to maintain the high quality of our school division and make sure that our schools continue to be a significant asset to our community. I will work energetically to maintain the high level of services to which our citizens have become accustomed. I will serve as a shepherd of our city funds to ensure that our citizens always receive value from their tax dollars. I will focus on making sure that the city considers all aspects of land utilization and work with land owners in finding the highest and best use of their property. I will study, prepare and work hard for you the citizens of Salem.
Salem is my home. My wife, Sandy was born and raised here as was our son Bryan and now we are looking forward to our grandson Trace growing up to be a Salem Spartan. I want to continue my service to Salem by becoming a member of City Council. As a member of City Council I will promise to listen to and analyze the issues and then vote in the best interest of all the citizens of Salem.
I ask you for your support and your Vote on Tuesday May 4, 2010 and thank you for taking the time to visit my web site.
